Frequently Asked Questions
What does Bamm-Bamm’s BFF Rescue stand for?
Bamm-Bamm was the name of my boxer that passed away and I like to save the lives of cats in his memory. Besides best friend(s) forever, BFF also stands for Best Feline Friends since we are a cat rescue. Bamm-Bamm was a good friend to all our fosters so I figured it was a cute name.
Are you a 501(c)3?
Yes! Our EIN is 99-4304237. Since we are a non-profit organization federally recognized under Internal Revenue Code (IRS) Section 501(c)3, all your monetary donations are tax deductible! If you use our platform under the Donate section of our website, Givebutter will give you a receipt that you should keep for your taxes:)
Can you explain the adoption fees?
Of course! We strive for transparency in everything we do! All our BFFs get adopted out already spayed or neutered which is $100 and $85 respectively. Since they leave our program at roughly 3 months old, they will have received at least 2 FVRCP vaccines by then which is $20 a pop. A microchip is $25-40 based on the clinic they go to. Dewormer usually costs about $10 per dose and they usually get dewormed at least twice. That alone is $170-200. And that’s not including the cost of litter which is about $25 a bag, which a single litter of kittens can easily go through in about 2 weeks. Growing kittens also eat A LOT! A bag of the kitten food we feed our cats is about $45 a bag. And this is all based in a perfect world where all kittens we find living outdoors are perfectly healthy. The truth is, most of them come with issues and we have to get them back to a healthy state. Whether it’s fleas, diarrhea, or infections, we have to pay for all these medical bills which is why donations are EXTREMELY helpful!
I submitted my adoption application, how long will it take to hear back?
I try to get back to adoption application within 24-48 hours. Usually, I respond within a couple hours. That being said, I work a full time job on top of the rescue work and I also work night shifts. This means it might take me a little longer to respond if you function at “normal” hours of the day OR I might get back to you at “weird” hours of the night so don’t get creeped out if you get a response at 2 in the morning. I apologize in advance and appreciate your patience as I try to juggle everything at once!
How long has the rescue been operating?
The rescue was officially founded August 21st of 2024 as a 501(c)3 so we’re still very new. I started doing rescue/TNR work in Arizona as early as February of 2020! But in Charlotte, we have been doing this as a hobby (when money and resources permitted) on the side as far back as 2022.
